Brother Kyle Bell, in conjunction with the Kappa Foundation, rented a theater at the Emagine Canton movie theater for a private viewing of the block buster Marvel movie “The Avengers” on Saturday, May 5, 2018. The 87 seat theater was sold out. Not only did the Brothers and their families and friends attend this event Brother Bell was able to donate tickets to Big Brothers Big Sisters and to the Kappa Leaguers. This movie has broken an all time record as the fasting grossing one billion dollars movie of all times.
Through the efforts of those who attended the movie and those who made financial contributions this endeavor provide approximately $1,100.00 for scholarships to the Foundation, provided an opportunity for youths and parents, that could not afford a ticket, to view the movie, and just a great Saturday afternoon at the movies for the Brothers.
Thank you Brother Bell, the Kappa Foundation, and the Brothers that contributed. These scholarship opportunities are critical and we are making a difference one scholarship at a time.
Tickets are $50.00 per person and proceeds from the ticket sales will help support breast and prostate cancer awareness. Boarding begins at 9:00 PM. The ship will depart at 10:30 PM.
For tickets, please contact Stafford Watts at 734.308.8799 or Derrick Washington at 313.505.4150.
The Klassy Evening with the Nupes was another big hit. The event was held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, MI. In addition to a nice selection in the wine tasting, there was exceptional entertainment and music and dancing. During the event, a silent auction offering a wide selection of items ranging from artwork to vacation getaways resulted in funding being raised for our scholarships and community service projects. It definitely was a klassy event.
Brothers Travis Erby and Greg Sipp were featured artists during an Art Show and Jazz Event sponsored by the African American Historical Museum of Washtenaw County on Sunday, October 20. Both brothers got a chance to talk about their “gift” and display some of their work. It was an awesome event—we are blessed to have these two artists as members of our chapter.
Our chapter Brothers Travis Erby and Greg Sipp Art work will be featured on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the African American Historical Museum between 4:00 pm -6:00 PM. Attend this event to support our brothers and marvel at their fine “Arts” while listening to great music. Congratulations Brothers!!!
