Brothers from the Delta Nu and Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti-Inkster Alumni Chapters attended the 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration at Eastern Michigan University. Brother Benjamin Jealous served as Keynote speaker during the event held on January 16, 2017.
Jealous, 43, who served as President of the NAACP for four years, from 2008 to 2012, is the youngest leader in the history of the NAACP. He is a partner in the Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kapor Capital, where he invests in high-growth companies that have a positive social impact. He has been a leader of successful state and local movements to ban the death penalty, outlaw racial profiling, defend voting rights, secure marriage equality, and end mass incarceration.
